October in the mountains is the most beautiful month of the year. The colors are just incredible. Yellow gold dominates with splashes of bright red and orange. Just gorgeous.

We moved into the new house in May and are still doing "finishing" projects. A friend told me recently that she and her husband built their house 35 years ago and it still isn't done. Hmmmm....

Ian has an internal medicine practice in the nearby town of Spruce Pine. And he works more than full time on all that is involved with living in the mountains.

I still think of myself as a full time artist, but have been spending more time "finishing" the new house and working in the gardens this summer. When I do get a chance to paint, I've been painting animal portraits in oils. I've also been accepted as part of the Creation Team for a mural project called The Glory of Horses. We like to brag about the grand kids. There are 5 now. They are all beautiful and brilliant. <grin> Seriously, though, we have a 8 year old granddaughter and a 5 year old grandson in Texas. A 3 year old granddaughter in Arizona, and a 2 year old granddaughter and a 4 month old granddaughter in California.
